Weekly Brain Tap: Justin Bennee

Weekly Brain Tap: Justin Bennee

braintap This week I caught up with Justin Bennee to tap into his brain a little bit.  Justin filmed some really good shit this year and his part will be burning out that DVD player of yours this August. How has your year been filming with a pile of shitheads like Videograss? This year was good for sure, I starting it off nursing an injury and was a little shaky, but the feet came back quick and it ended up being really good. What happened with your back? How long did that put you out? I have a herniated disc and 2 bulged discs, I was out for a little over 9 months, it basically was the worst time of my life dealing with the injury and not being able to ride, but I finally worked through it and got healthy, life is good my friend. Tell everyone about that special letter you got slipped under the door in Minnesota from the hotel management. You trying to get me to admit something? This sounds like a set up, next question please. img_0094-600x800 You ever gonna dye your hair black again like you had in Moment of Truth? Shit I hope not. Speaking of Moment of Truth, you almost frontside 5ed Pyramid gap but instead landed on your ass, Wanna go rebate that tomorrow? Only if you do a followcam on snowlerblades. Deal! tomorrow its on.  Since we are on the subject of old video parts... Close-out rails. I think you were the first person to bring that shit. Are you aware people call them Bennee rails? I guess I've heard them called that, probably cuz Snowboarder ran so many photos of me breaking my face off on one. calgary-big-shirt How was it filming with gypsies like Larry? Larry is dope.  All those guys are on some next shit when it comes to rails, they are gonna blow some people's minds this year! What made you stay away from rails this year? In Burning Bridges you had the best cab 270 back to regs ever done. You gonna bring that back soon? I did hit rails, you just somehow missed all the shots and I was wearing all black, so the photogs missed their shots too.  The cab 270...that trick was one of  those types of things just happen when they happen, once I find something I like again I guess it will happen then. You and Matty shared a part in Burning Bridges.  How long you guys been tight? Yeah Matty is a good homie for sure, we've known each other for a while now. Can we throw some Matty shots in your part this year for old times sake? For sure, I'd be feeling that. Who is doing shit that gets you hyped to snowboard these days? There are so many people, all my friends get me hyped mostly. img_0067-655x655 What was the last CD or record or iTunes download you got down on? I'm not sure, I just bought a box of dollar records, there was a good War album in there. You backing that War album? When we gonna make a fat beat in your studio? Yeah for sure,  its good.  Dont know about any "fat" beats but come by anytime and I'm sure we can put something together. I think we can end it there, any last words? I gotta give thanks to Nike for backing me up big time this year, along with Celtek of course and Nitro for giving me boards, LRG, Milosport, itchycats.com for the beats! And my girl for making me work, my family and the homies!  Thanks to Justin Meyer, Sean McCormic, Andy Wright, Bob Plumb, Cole Barash, E-Stone, Cole Taylor, JAH, Shane, and Ian and, any others I forgot for helping me along the way!  Have a good time when you ride cuz when you're done and beat up or injured you'll miss the good days.
