Canadian Riders Lavigne and Belzile Join Quiksilver Huntington Beach, CA (December 16, 2010) – Quiksilver welcomes two new Canadian riders to the team with the addition of Will Lavigne and Matt Belzile to the snow team. Lavigne, a bilingual snowboarder from Quebec, is known for transitioning seamlessly between urban rails, park jumps and most recently natural terrain. Belzile splits his time between contests and filming in the limitless Whistler backcountry. “It’s exciting to have more riders of this caliber join the Quiksilver family. Will is one of the most progressive rail riders out of Quebec and I promise you will start to see an entire other side of him soon slaying parks and the backcountry,” says Oren Tanzer, Quiksilver Brand Manager for Snow. “Matt is one of my favorite riders to watch. His style is endless and he just makes things look so easy. Keep a close eye on our brothers to the north.” Victoriaville, Quebec-native Lavigne rides wherever the snow is best and takes full advantage of the long urban winter in eastern Canada. He created video parts with Standard Films and Rome last season and was part of the winning Transworld Team Shoot Out team in 2009/10. This winter, the 22-year-old will be filming for Rome’s “The Shred Remains,” while following the weather and a whim on where to go and which contests to enter. Belzile hails from Ottawa and now calls Whistler, BC home. His stylish spins including a backside 1260 crowd pleaser transition to backcountry booters and natural features. Belzile continues to evolve as a rider pushing the limits in every aspect of snowboarding. Check out Lavigne, Belzile, fellow Canadian Rasman, and the entire global snow team including Rice, Willett, Fox and more at Quiksilver.com/snow. “Todcast the Movie” hosted by Todd Richards is now available online at Quiksilver.com. ### About Quiksilver Quiksilver is committed to providing tools for uncovering, expressing and expanding your personal style.  Our aim is to foster the sense of individual expression and excitement – the stoke that is the essence of boardriding*.  We’re also here to spread the word because the only thing better than finding stoke is sharing it. *Boardriding is about timing and style.  It’s youthful, active, casual, and free flowing.  There is no wrong way to ride a board.  The goal is simply to learn, progress, improve, and give it your own interpretation.
